Understand what happens after your brand reaches the bar.
Better Bartender brings AI-native commercial intelligence to drinks brands. Understand the gap between getting a product into an account and knowing how it performs there.
What is on-trade analytics for drinks brands?
On-trade analytics examines drinks performance in places where customers consume them, such as bars, pubs and restaurants. It can connect questions about distribution, rate of sale and category performance, provided the source data actually measures those things.
A shipment records a delivery. A menu records an advertised listing. A POS report records sales entered by a venue. Each is useful, but none automatically proves the other two. We want brand teams to see what supports a conclusion before they act on it.
Built for the people growing drinks brands
- Brand and category managers: understand the relationship between category movement and a brand’s observed performance.
- On-trade sales and national account teams: investigate account changes and identify useful next conversations.
- Trade marketing teams: define an activation’s baseline, outcome and cost before evaluating it.
- Independent drinks producers: ask better questions about early distribution without mistaking a small sample for the whole market.
Spirits, beer and other drinks require consistent product attribution and units. A recorded cocktail sale does not identify its spirit brand unless the recipe or item mapping supplies that evidence.
Which commercial questions matter?
Is growth coming from more active accounts or better sales within them? Distribution and velocity answer different questions. An illustrative 600 litres across 20 active accounts is 30 litres per active account for that period; it is not automatically a weekly rate or a market estimate.
Which accounts deserve a conversation next? Strong category demand with no observed brand sales can be a research lead, but it does not establish a free listing, a stockout or a willingness to switch.
Did a drinks activation create incremental value? More sales during an event can reflect normal trading changes as well as the activation. Decide the comparison and the cost basis before claiming a return.
